Emergency Foster Care

Sometimes, children rescued from abuse and neglect don’t have a home immediately available. As an emergency foster parent, you can provide a temporary foster home for a child while a suitable foster home is sought.

Respite Foster Care

You may be interested in becoming a Foster/Resource Parent but you are not sure if you can do it long term. Knotts Family Agency trains and supports temporary foster care parents to provide much-needed respite care.

Basic Requirements To Become A Foster Parent

Must be at least 21 years of age

Driver’s license: Possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Bedroom: At least one extra bedroom in your home (which may be rented or owned).

Background: Must pass an employment and criminal background check. No minimum income requirements but parents must be able to financially manage their own expenses.
