Children and Resource Parent Support- Foster Care Social Worker

Knotts Family Agency is hiring individuals to serve as foster care social workers to support the agency’s focus on Resource Parent Delight™. The agency goes beyond mere “parent satisfaction”, and is instead focused Parent Delight™, which means that our goal is to continuously surprise foster or adoptive parents with unexpected and unusually high level of support and quality service. The social worker provides the highest quality support to Foster/Adoptive Parents and comprehensive case management and care coordination for children/youth in foster care. The primary duty of the agency social worker is a) to ensure Resource (Foster) Parents have all the support they need to be successful and are happy as they provide care; and b) that children are doing well and thriving in a caring and safe environment. This is accomplished through regular home visits, providing resources, building capacity of parents, and documentation of services and progress.

Qualified applicants must be parent-focused. Should have a master’s degree in social work or social welfare, marriage, family, child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, or social psychology. MSW preferred. At least one (1) year of experience, but prefer 2 years or more previous social work experience within a FFA or county department. Experience with Home Studies, psychosocial assessments preferred. Parent Engagement and Assessment Specialist

 Under the direction of the Resource Family Support Manager, the Parent Engagement and Assessment Specialist provides support to individuals who are applying to become Resource Parents (Foster or Adoptive Parents). The Assessment Specialist ensures that the application and supporting documentation are complete and processed in a timely manner. Additionally, the Assessment Specialist may conduct the family evaluations and prepares the resource family written report. Additional duties include but not limited to orientations, background review, reference check, home inspections, and preparation of clearance packets for submission to the respective counties. Consistent with the agency’s philosophy of Parent Delight™, the Parent Engagement and Assessment Specialist ensures that applicants or prospective parents are happy during the application process and receive timely updates as to the status of the application.

Qualified applicants must be parent-focused. Should have a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Transportation Assistant

The Transportation Assistant is responsible for supporting the transportation needs for children in foster care. In cases in which a Resource Parent reports not being able to transport a child due to unforeseen emergencies or circumstances, Knotts Family Agency may provide assistance with transportation to family visitations (i.e. visits between children and their birth/biological parents or other relatives). Resource parents must request the assistance with sufficient time in advance as discussed in their parent handbook and during the approval process. The Transportation Assistant enables an efficient day-to-day Transportation operation by supporting the Family Support Manager in providing the highest level of support to Resource Parents, with the goal of achieving Parent Delight ™. Essential Functions:

  • Overseeing and scheduling the day to day activities of transportation of children as requested by resource parents.
  • Frequent communication with Parent Support team regarding status and logistics of transportation to ensure quality service is provided to parents and children.
  • Ensure all transportation requests are addressed efficiently, and that specific parent requests or concerns are communicated.
  • Ensure adherence to all security and operational procedures.

Qualified applicants must be parent-focused and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. At least one (1) year of experience in a transportation-related role.
